I followed a photo blog for a while where the guy vowed to "never leave his yard" for a year's worth of photos. I don't know if he made it or not, but I bet you could take a year's worth of photos in your house.
A rule, I imagine it's not really a rule, but perhaps a "suggestion" - when you are taking a photograph is to "show me the world like I've never seen it before" Sometimes that's hard to do - but I see that you have "the eye". I like the little shoe.
